An Eritrean Summer: (I) Asmara Days
By Huriy Ghirmai on Aug 13, 2004, 18:49

The gates are still the same colour but Aboi Embaye - the caretaker - is not here anymore. My class at first grade used to stand next to the chapel. I go in and it waits for me unlocked and I enter with such excitement. The room looks small and the benches so tiny. How things change! I sit on where I imagined I used to sit. Scattered memories surface on my mind like falling globules that settle on a flat surface – undisturbed. Eventually, the memories merge together to bring me some vague recollection of my childhood at school.

A lasting memory! Summer 2004
By Mike Seium on Aug 12, 2004, 10:26

In early April Eritreans were celebrating the 2nd year anniversary of the Hague decision that awarded the symbolic town of Badme to it's rightful owner. Since then the spirit of the nation which thrives on "hade hizbi hade libi" has been on a roll with positive vibrations. As a person who had the opportunity to attend most of the events in America
and Eritrea, I feel honored to say that Eritrea is headed in the right direction. It's leadership is one that must be commended and it's strength is one that can never be weakened. It's biggest resource "THE PEOPLE" or should I say "SHAEBIA" have made me realize that the nation is stronger than ever.
