In what is almost a familiar pattern now, Ethiopian security agents manhandling Eritrea’s delegate to IGAD’s 40th Extra-ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers which was convened in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Abeba, this Wednesday 24th August. Eritrea’s envoy was harassed, verbally abused, and threatened by Ethiopia’s security officials in breach of his diplomatic immunity. Somalia: The Basic and Lasting Solution The people of Somalia who are condemned to be without a nation are currently faced with a critical situation. It is to be noted that authors of fabricated ploys recently disseminated defamatory allegation claiming that ‘Eritrea has a conspiratorial intention during the AU Conference that was held in Addis Ababa last January’ which was correlated with the internal popular opposition inside Ethiopia. The intention of authors of such ploy was to give added impetus to their hostile accusations alleging that ‘Eritrea is undermining peace in the Horn of Africa.” However, those who orchestrate the fabrication cannot at all conceal the objective truth outlined below.

It is to be recalled that the Ministry in its press release of 8 April, 2011, noted that, on this issue, it refrained from delving into diplomatic, propaganda, press and PR campaigns, thus handling the matter with utmost prudence and patience, and that it would release detailed facts in due course.
