Nationals in Diaspora commemorated Martyrs Day

Eritrean nationals residing in various countries commemorated Martyrs Day, 20 June with candle vigil and other programs depicting the significance of the day.

Asmara, 23 June 2019 - Eritrean nationals residing in various countries commemorated Martyrs Day, 20 June with candle vigil and other programs depicting the significance of the day.

At the commemoration ceremony the nationals residing in Abu Dhabi, UAE conducted, they contributed 7,850UAE Dirham in augmenting the Martyrs Trust Fund and assumed responsibility of supporting 21 families of martyrs.

Speaking at the event, the Eritrean Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Osman Mohammed Omer reminding nationals that it is moral duty of every citizen to support the families of martyrs, called for renewing pledge to augment the Martyrs Trust Fund.

In the same vein, nationals residing in Denver, USA, also commemorated Martyrs Day with candle vigil, mass marching and various programs portraying the significance of Martyrs Day.

In related news, Eritreans in the German cities of Ulm, Heidelberg, Hamburg, Kassel, Munich, Mannheim and Nuremberg commemorated Martyrs Day with great respect.

At the commemoration ceremonies the nationals held in Nuremberg and Mannheim they contributed 2,600 Euro and 2000 Euro respectively in augmenting the Martyrs Trust Fund.

Similarly, at the commemoration event held in Kenya on 20 June, the nationals renewed their pledge to support the families of the martyrs and to augment the Martyrs Trust Fund.

Speaking at the event, the Eritrean Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Beyene Russom pointing out the Martyrs Day commemoration is a reminder to every citizen to honor the expectation of martyrs, called for increased organizational capacity and implementation of the national development drives.
