Asmara, 20 January 2010 - Eritrean nationals residing in the German city of Frankfurt and the Eritrean communities in the Italian city of Rome and Lazio region said that the illegal US sanctions resolution would further strengthen national unity. They also expressed commitment to back up the envisaged integrated national development programs.

The Eritrean communities in both areas voiced in a seminar they conducted that the shameful and illegal sanctions resolution adopted by the Security Council in gross violation of Charter principles and international law  under the pressure of the US fully attests to the weakness and subservience of the world body.  In this regard, they asserted that the conspiracy would be rebuffed through the united ranks of the Eritrean people.  

The nationals further lauded the strenuous endeavors being made by the Government to enhance the nation-building process and improve the people’s standard of living despite the acts of hostility and conspiracy on the part of the US Administration.
The Eritrean Ambassador to Italy, Mr. Zemede Tekle, expressed conviction that the Eritrean people would as ever foil enemy ploys on the basis of self-reliance and independent political path. To this end, he called on the nationals to raise their awareness.

Similarly, Eritrean citizens living in Frankfurt and its environs denounced the illegal and shameful sanctions resolution and stated that the national development drive would not be impeded by such wicked acts. They also reiterated readiness to live up to expectations in rebuffing the conspiracy.

The Eritrean Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Petros Tsegai, gave briefings to the nationals on the objective situation in the Homeland and the integrated national development programs for 2010. Noting that the latest subversive ploy is nothing new but part and parcel of the previous covert acts of conspiracy, he called on citizens to raise their awareness and step up participation in resistance endeavors.

Likewise, the Eritrean Community in Norway condemned the illegal US sanctions resolution and expressed readiness to fulfill what is expected of them in foiling the sinister act.
