Barentu School of Associate Nurses striving to nurture skilled manpower

The Barentu School of Associate Nurses is providing a year-long course to about 106 students, according to Mr. Michael Tekleab, director of the school.
Barentu, 21 April 2010 – The Barentu School of Associate Nurses is providing a year-long course to about 106 students, according to Mr. Michael Tekleab, director of the school.

He explained that the shortcomings the School used to encounter have now been tackled and that it is striving to meet standard.  Mr. Michael further stated that the students currently pursuing the course are from the Warsay-Yikaalo School in Sawa, and that they are fulfilling their internship in the hospitals of Barentu, Agordat, Tessenei and Keren so as to upgrade their practical skill.

The students expressed appreciation for the educational opportunity and pledged to live up to the nation’s expectations. Barentu School of Associate Nurses was opened in 2006 and it has so far graduated about 437 students who are serving in various health institutions.
