Hamelmalo, 27 April 2010 – A meeting conducted among exemplary farmers from Gash-Barka region and Australian experts from the Hamelmalo Agriculture Research Center, as well as the Agriculture Ministry’s branch office in the region, stressed the need for higher production of animal feed.
The head of technical service in the branch office, Dr. Habte Gaim, noted that extensive pastoral and farming land is available in Gash-Barka region, which represents a great asset for the development of livestock. In this regard, he pointed out that the region is home to about 45% of the country’s livestock, and called on farmers in the region to practice modern animal feed.
