Farmers In Adi-Quala Raise Production Through Government’s Financial Support

A total of 78 farmers of fruits and vegetables in Adi-Quala sub-zone have managed to raise production as a result of the Government’s support amounting to over 3 million Nakfa. Adi-Quala, 2 May 2010 – A total of 78 farmers of fruits and vegetables in Adi-Quala sub-zone have managed to raise production as a result of the Government’s support amounting to over 3 million Nakfa.

Explaining that they have been engaging in the cultivation fruits and vegetables on 10 hectares through drip irrigation, the farmers  said that their endeavor have assumed encouraging stage and would play significant role in stabilizing market demanded. They further pointed out that the 10 hectares are placed under cultivation on the basis of two wells and big generator.

Expressing appreciation to the support extended to them, the farmers indicated that they are in a position to improve their living standard through effectively utilizing the available resources. The land under cultivation is watered from rivers flowing from the surrounding villages, besides underground water.
