The Minister of Public Works, Mr. Abraha Asfaha, underlined the major significance of the strategic Kohaito-Foro road currently under construction. He pointed out that the 115 Km.-long road connecting the Southern and Northern Red Sea regions would play paramount role in the development of both regions. Asmara, 5 May 2010 – The Minister of Public Works, Mr. Abraha Asfaha, underlined the major significance of the strategic Kohaito-Foro road currently under construction. He pointed out that the 115 Km.-long road connecting the Southern and Northern Red Sea regions would play paramount role in the development of both regions.
Mr. Abraha went on to say that the construction of the road on the basis of internal resources of the country is being undertaken in line with the Government’s vigorous endeavors to promote social justice in all parts of the country. He further stated that the achievements registered so far on the part of the national construction companies, coupled with the dedicated role of EDF members in the task is gratifying.
The Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsigereda Woldegergis, on her part explained that the construction of the Kohaito-Foro road at substantial expenditure would further enhance the existing close bond between the inhabitants of the two regions. She also commended the active participation of the population in the task.
Reports indicated over 60% of the construction of the Kohaito-Foro road has already been finalized.
