Azel Pharmaceutical Plant in Keren is striving to boost production and make it competitive, Stated Mr. Lema Tsegai, head of production.
Keren, 8 May 2010 – Azel Pharmaceutical Plant in Keren is striving to boost production and make it competitive, Stated Mr. Lema Tsegai, head of production.

Pointing out that the Plant began producing a limited amount of medicines in 2004, he indicated that it is presently stepping up efforts to raise production through introducing modern equipment. Currently, Azel is producing 52 different types of drugs and supplying local and foreign market.

Stating that the Plant gives priority to quality, Mr. Lema explaining that it is operating efficiently and meeting international standard.

Mr. Haben Zaid, a pharmacist, said on his part that the Plant has shown impressive growth within a short time, and that the majority of the staff are skilled Eritrean citizens.

Azel Pharmaceutical Plant, which is owned by the Eritrean government and the Jordanian drugs manufacturing company (JPM), has about 160 employees working in shifts.
