Riyadh, 10 May 2010: The first conference of the YPFDJ Riyadh branch was conducted from 5 to 8 May .
In a statement he made at the occasion, the Head of Organizational Affairs at the PFDJ, Mr. Abdallah Jabir pointed out that the conference holds more importance because it is being conducted during a time of many historic events. He went on to add that having achieved their freedom by overcoming all forms of hostilities, the Eritrean people now continue to overcome the challenges that come their way armed with the same values.
Mr. Abdallah went on to state that the youth need strong leadership and coordination so that they can successfully challenge any problems and called on the Eritrean Embassy, community members, PFDJ branches and parents to extend them the necessary assistance.
The chairman of the coordinating committee of the Riyadh conference, Eng. Ahmed on his part presented an annual work report of the activities of the YPFDJ branch and indicated that commendable work has been carried out so far.
A number of issues such as the main challenges facing young people today, preserving national values and identity, strengthening the participation of the youth in the nation building process and others were raised and discussed during the conference.
The participants concluded their conference by electing a coordinative body that would lead their activities.
