Gash Barka : Displaced Nationals Rehabilitated With An Expenditure Of Over 324 Million Nakfa

Nationals displaced from their homes due to the TPLF war of aggression have been rehabilitated in the past five years through different projects costing over 324 million Nakfa, according to the project coordinator of rehabilitation in the Gash Barka region, Mr. Tsegay Teweldemedhin. Indicating that the regional administration had focused on providing sustainable food and shelter, Mr. Tsegay said that fruitful outcome has been registered in moving displaced families from temporary camps to permanent settlements.

According to reports from the project coordinating office in Gash Barka, potable water supply projects as well as three dams have been completed in seven different villages in which displaced families were rehabilitated. Furthermore, the families were given over 4,000 oxen and other farming tools and around 6,000 smokeless ovens were handed out so as to alleviate any health hazards.

The project continues to make strenuous efforts to rehabilitate 16,000 families displaced due to the TPLF aggression in 27 different villages.
