Preparations In Gash-Barka And Anseba Regions Finalized To Colorfully Celebrate 19th Independence Day Anniversary
The inhabitants of Gash-Barka region have finalized preparations towards celebrating the 19th anniversary of Independence Day in a colorful manner.
Barentu, 20 May 2010 – The inhabitants of Gash-Barka region have finalized preparations towards celebrating the 19th anniversary of Independence Day in a colorful manner.
According to the office of the holidays coordinating committee in the region, community tents would be in place in all administrative areas and villages of the region in a manner that would accommodate all sections of the local inhabitants.
Mr. Solomon Abegaz from the coordinating committee said that extensive preparations have been made in Barentu town at the regional level, in which the inhabitants are demonstrating active participation. He also disclosed that a carnival would be staged on May 23, and various exhibitions reflecting the activities of national construction companies, sports and cultural shows would feature, among others.
Likewise, preparations to celebrate the 19th anniversary of Independence Day have been finalized in Anseba region. The chairman of the holidays coordinating committee in Keren, Mr. Rezene Araia, explained that the preparations in the regional capital began on May 10 at community and administration levels. The programs include sports, the staging of cultural shows and community activities.
