Over 60 Water Projects And Other Development Programs Put In Place In Hagaz Sub-Zone In The Past 19 Years

Over 60 water projects have been put in place in various areas of Hagaz sub-zone in the past 19 years through concerted effort of people and government so as to provide reliable potable water supply,  Mr. Idris Mohammad, administrator of the sub-zone disclosed.
Hagaz, 23 May 2010 – Over 60 water projects have been put in place in various areas of Hagaz sub-zone in the past 19 years through concerted effort of people and government so as to provide reliable potable water supply,  Mr. Idris Mohammad, administrator of the sub-zone disclosed.

Pointing out that the local inhabitants used to encounter problems as regards obtaining reliable potable water supply, he said that the provided water is playing significant role in ensuring the health of the citizens in addition to easing water shortage problems.

Moreover, malaria epidemic has also declined through similar efforts. Mr. Idris explained that the seven health institutions established in different parts of the sub-zone are rendering efficient health service. As regards to education, he indicated that there are about 32 schools ranging from kindergarten to high school level. Furthermore, Mr. Idris said that five transport lines were opened and are now providing effective service.

Reports disclosed that fruits and vegetables have been cultivated over 650 hectares of land and that an association of dairy products is making due contribution in stabilizing local market demand.
