Residents Of Central Region Celebrate The Independence Anniversary With Patriotic Zeal

The residents of 13 administrative areas of the capital Asmara and the sub-zones of Gala-Nefhi, Berik and Serjeka in the Central region, celebrated the 19th Independence anniversary by setting up community tents today in patriotic zeal.

Asmara, 23 May 2010 – The residents of 13 administrative areas of the capital Asmara and the sub-zones of Gala-Nefhi, Berik and Serjeka in the Central region, celebrated the 19th Independence anniversary by setting up community tents today in patriotic zeal.

The celebration programs accompanied with active participation of the people continued in vibrant sprit throughout the day.

Mr. Berhane Gebremedihn and Ms. Meriam Yacob from the Edaga-Hamus administrative area said that the people were making extensive preparations to mark the event, and the essence of the celebration goes on beyond the merriment. They also added that independence celebrations are an occasion in which we renew our pledge to live up to the martyrs trust.

Similarly, Mr. Adem Mahommed and Elisabeth Abreha on their part commended the development achievements registered in post-independence period and explained that the achievements are indicative of a bright future ahead. They expressed conviction that the people of Eritrea would build a developed and strong nation foiling all enemy conspiracy as in the past.

Moreover, the programs of independence celebration of the 19th anniversary have provided a festive atmosphere not only for the entire Eritrea people but also for foreigners.

Following their participation in the community tents, Mr. Nanda Molica, Jean Paulo Carini from Italy expressed their admiration for celebration programs. They also said that Eritrea is peaceful country endowed with hospitable people. The two Italians wished the people of Eritrea peace and prosperity.
