Asmara, 24 May 2010 – Foreign participants of the 19th Independence Day anniversary celebrations said that the prevailing peace and stability in the country is the outcome of the heavy sacrifices the Eritrean people paid for achieving freedom.
They further stated that they were highly impressed with the fact that thousands of nationals celebrated the event in a spirit of enthusiasm, including strolling in avenues well decorated with neon lights.
The foreign participants further explained that Independence Day eve was quite unique as people from all walks of life, including children, mothers and the elderly flooded the downtown with zeal, a scene rarely witnessed in many parts of the word, including Africa.
They also stated that the celebrations not only highlighted the strong unity of the Eritrean people but also attest to their determination to meet challenges.
