Asmara, 25 May 2010 – President Isaias Afwerki received and held talks last night with the Sudanese Presidential Advisor, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, on bilateral and regional issues.

In the meeting at the Denden Hall, Dr. Mustafa invited President Isaias for the second time to participate in the Sudanese Presidential inauguration ceremony due to be held on May 27.

In a statement he gave to local and international journalists following the meeting, the Sudanese Presidential Advisor stated that his visit is mainly aimed at participating in the official celebration of the 19th anniversary of Eritrean Independence Day. He also asserted that President Isaias accepted the invitation extended by the Government of Sudan, and that he will attend the Sudanese Presidential inauguration ceremony.
