Fruits and vegetables farming activities are gaining momentum in Adi-Quala sub-zone as a result of the growing awareness of the people regarding the significance of such farming practice.
Adi-Quala, 28 May 2010 – Fruits and vegetables farming activities are gaining momentum in Adi-Quala sub-zone as a result of the growing awareness of the people regarding the significance of such farming practice.
The head of economic development in the sub-zone, Mr. Frewengel Teklehaimanot, indicated that 420 hectares below a micro-dam has been put under cultivation. He further explained that there are over 600 cows in the sub-zone which are providing up to 250 liters of milk on a daily basis.
Mr. Frewengel stated that bee farming activities are being enhanced in the sub-zone and that various lectures and training course are being offered to the farming community.
Reports indicated that there are 6 micro-dams, 14 water reservoirs and 260 wells in Adi-Quala sub-zone that are making due contribution in irrigating vegetable farming.
