Barentu, 31 May 2010 – More agricultural machineries are being put to use both in quality and quantity thanks to the substantial investment being made towards achieving food security, stated Capt. Tedros Tesfai, head of technical tasks at the Gash-Barka central government garage.
He indicated that the necessary machineries have been deployed that would undertake different farming activities, especially in those farmlands ready to be put under integrated cultivation.
Also as part of endeavors to introduce modern irrigation farming, various devices are being installed for facilitating drip irrigation system, while major machineries have already been deployed that would facilitate land leveling activities.
Capt. Tedros further explained that continuous training courses are being offered to staff members so as to familiarize them with the newly introduced agricultural machineries.
