Ginda, 1 June 2010 – In a meeting conducted in Ginda town, it was disclosed that the necessary preparations and close coordination on the part of the concerned parties is imperative for the success of the illiteracy eradication campaign.

The head of the Education Ministry’s branch in Ginda sub-zone, Mr. Saleh Ahmed, stated that although valuable experience has been acquired in eradicating illiteracy, delays in the beginning of classes, coupled with dropouts due to various reasons need to be dully addressed.

Noting that children who do not get the opportunity to attend classes at the right age are attending classes in the illiteracy eradication campaign, he called on area administrators to back up the program.

The Administrator of the sub-zone, Ms. Amna Haj Osman, explained that the Government is making substantial investment towards expanding educational opportunities across the nation, and called on students and parents to make good use of such opportunity.

The participants of the campaign stated that they are now able to read and write thanks to the program.
