Assembly Members Laud Impressive Development Achievements in Gash-Barka Region

The impressive achievements registered in Gash-Barka region in all sectors over the past 19 years fully attest to the coordinated endeavors made by the people and the Government, stated the region’s Assembly members.  
Barentu, 2 June 2010 – The impressive achievements registered in Gash-Barka region in all sectors over the past 19 years fully attest to the coordinated endeavors made by the people and the Government, stated the region’s Assembly members.  

Stating that the people are now leading a better style of life thanks to the putting in place of infrastructure facilities and expansion of social services, they explained that the population has already got access to reliable education, health, potable water supply and transport services. The introduction of modern agricultural practices is also gaining momentum.

They further indicated that previously traveling from Asmara to Tessenei used to take more than 2 days. At present, however, one can reach Tessenei in a matter of hours as a result of the construction of an asphalted road that reaches Arabaete-Asher crossing a number of urban and rural centers. There also exists dirt and asphalted roads in all villages of the region, the Assembly members added.
