Eritreans in Washington, the Netherlands and Düsseldorf Reiterate Readiness to Reinforce Integrated National Resolute Rebuff
Eritrean nationals residing in Washington and its environs, the Netherlands, the Eritrean Community in the German city of Düsseldorf and its surroundings celebrated the 19th anniversary of Independence Day with zeal and reiterated resolve to strengthen the integrated national resolute rebuff.
Asmara, 2 June 2010 – Eritrean nationals residing in Washington and its environs, the Netherlands, the Eritrean Community in the German city of Düsseldorf and its surroundings celebrated the 19th anniversary of Independence Day with zeal and reiterated resolve to strengthen the integrated national resolute rebuff.
In the celebrations held from May 29 to 30 in which thousands of Eritrean citizens from Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. took part, cultural, sports and other activities were featured, thus adding color to the event.
The Eritrean Ambassador to the US and Canada, Mr. Girmai Gebremariam, outlined the impressive achievements registered while at the same time meeting challenges. The nationals on their part voiced determination to fulfill what is expected of them for the success of the national development drive.
Also in similar celebrations held from May 22 to 26 in the Netherlands, Eritrean citizens in the Dutch cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Edevanghen, Utrecht and The Hague, the nationals stated that the secret for Eritrea’s achievements in diverse domains lies on the existing strong unity among the people inside the country and abroad, as well as the close coordination of all parties.
Speaking at the celebrations, the Eritrean Ambassador to the Netherlands, Mr. Mohammed Suleiman, and the Eritrean Consul, Mr. Solomon Mehari, respectively pointed out that the achievements the nation had registered and the challenges it met over the past 19 years emanate from the steadfastness of the Eritrean people and EDF members, as well as the correct policy and dedicated leadership.
Likewise, members of the Eritrean Community in Düsseldorf and its environs, celebrated Independence Day with patriotic spirit. They lauded the implementation of development programs and the achievements scored as regards ensuring economic emancipation and improving the people’s standard of living. The citizens further expressed commitment to live up to the nation’s expectations.
