Youth and Student Week was conducted in the Northern Red Sea region from May 28 to 30 in collaboration with the branch office of the Ministry of Education and NUEYS in the region. Ginda,3 June 2010 – Youth and Student Week was conducted in the Northern Red Sea region from May 28 to 30 in collaboration with the branch office of the Ministry of Education and NUEYS in the region.
In the festival held in Ginda, about 700 students and 150 care takers took part. Moreover, various sports activities, general knowledge contest, debating, arts exhibition, handicraft and others were featured.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsigereda Weldegergis, pointed out that the Youth and Student Week held during the 19th Independence Day anniversary celebrations added color to the event. The Week played significant role in creating conducive ground for youths to exchange experience, and thereby enrich their knowledge as well as preserve the nation’s cultural heritage, she added.
The head of the Education Ministry’ branch in the region, Mr. Yasin Mohammed, on his part noted that the yearly festival plays due role in preparing competitive works that represent the region’s products at the national youth festival in Sawa.
The regional administrator and other officials handed prizes to those who demonstrated excellence in the competition.
