The Arag Garment and Sanitary Towel Factory owned by the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) is striving to meet local market demand, according to Ms. Almaz Yemane, head of administration and finance in the factory.
She indicated that the factory stationed in Mendefera sub-zone supplies over 600,000 sanitary towels and 50,000 different types of clothes to the market annually.
Ms. Almaz went on to say that on top of the existing 36 sewing machines, the factory would purchase additional 31machines so as to boost production.
Arag Garament and Sanitary Towel Factory was set up in 1996 and has about 65 employees.
