Martyrs’ Families in Tessenei Town Express Satisfaction With All-Round Assistance by the Inhabitants

Martyrs’ families in Tessenei town noted the significance of the financial and material assistance being extended by the local inhabitants in upgrading their socio-economic wellbeing.
Tessenei, 18 June 2010 – Martyrs’ families in Tessenei town noted the significance of the financial and material assistance being extended by the local inhabitants in upgrading their socio-economic wellbeing.

They further stated that all children of martyrs in the sub-zone are being supported through such genuine gesture. In this connection, the families of martyrs expressed pride over the martyrdom of their beloved ones. 

A wife of a martyr, Ms. Asha Abdalla, pointed out that in addition to the Government’s regular benefit scheme, the general public is extending utmost support in all activities. She further lauded the all-round assistance of the people and the Government.

The head of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in the sub-zone, Mr. Saleh Osman, indicated that the program of supporting martyrs’ families was launched in 2007 through the local inhabitants and the sub-zonal administration. In the first phase alone, over 2.7 million Nakfa was raised that was channeled to the rehabilitation of 209 children of martyrs in the fields of their choice, he added.  Mr. Saleh went on to say that 584, 000 Nakfa has been collected in the second phase and that 5,700 Nakfa each is being paid in cash to 104 children of martyrs.
