Members of NUEW Branch in Germany Plant Tree Seedlings in Honor of Martyrs

In connection with Martyrs Day Commemoration, members of the NUEW branch in Germany at the head of Ms. Leul Gebreab, Chairperson of the Union, planted tree seedlings in Etaber Hill in Embaderho administrative area in memory of fallen heroes. Embaderho, 18 June 2010 – In connection with Martyrs Day Commemoration, members of the NUEW branch in Germany at the head of Ms. Leul Gebreab, Chairperson of the Union, planted tree seedlings in Etaber Hill in Embaderho administrative area in memory of fallen heroes.

Speaking on the occasion, the Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, commended the members for taking such a praiseworthy initiative of planting tree seedlings. He further called on the local inhabitants to play due role in looking after the trees.

The head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the region, Mr. Haile Gide, said on his part that the Hill in which martyrs’ trees are being planted embraces skeletons of gallant fallen heroes. He went on to indicate that 76 hectares of apple and other types of fruits in the hill have already mushroomed.

The head of the NUEW branch in Germany, Ms. Saba Sium, stressed the need for reinforcing the national development drive through keeping intact national unity and honoring the trust of martyrs.
