55 million Nakfa paid in benefit scheme to martyrs’ families in Southern region

Dekemhare, 19 June 2010 – A benefit scheme amounting to about 55 million Nakfa has been paid this year to a total of 7,000 families of fallen heroes in the sub-zones of Tsorona, Mai-Aini, Dekemhare and Segeneiti.

The benefit scheme office in Dekemhare sub-zone indicated that the payment is in line with the commitment of the people and the Government of Eritrea to honor the trust of martyrs. It further disclosed that assisting martyrs families is a sacred duty that should be emulated by every citizen.

A father of a martyr, Mr. Tekle Gebrezgi, expressed satisfaction with the continued support and care being extended by the Government along with its vigorous endeavors to build a developed nation.

Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Ginda sub-zone donated 117,000 Nakfa in support of martyrs families on the occasion of June 20. The contribution is in continuation of the activities carried out to this end.
