Asmara, 19 June 2010- Eritrean nationals residing in Dubai and North Emirates, UAE, commemorated Martyrs Day on June 18 through conducting a candle vigil.
Speaking on the occasion, the Eritrean Consul General to Dubai and North Emirates, Mr. Yohannes Teklemichael, pointed out that the people and Government of Eritrea are doing their level best to honor the trust of martyrs. He further commended the contribution made by Eritrean citizens in the aforementioned countries and called on them to enhance it.
At the gathering within the premises of the office of the Eritrean Consul General, 29 nationals assumed the responsibility of supporting a total of 100 families of fallen heroes, according to reports.
Also in the prayers conducted for Eritrean martyrs by the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Kidist Silasie Church in Dubai and its environs, Keshi Niamin Tesfatsion called on every Eritrean citizen to make due contribution in honoring the trust of martyrs.
It is to be noted that Eritrean nationals in Dubai and North Emirates have been assisting 124 martyrs families.
