Eritrean Nationals In Kuwait And Libya Commemorate Martyrs Day

Eritrean nationals residing in Kuwait and Libya commemorated Martyr’s Day with patriotic zeal.
Asmara, 20 June 2010 – Eritrean nationals residing in Kuwait and Libya commemorated Martyr’s Day with patriotic zeal.

In the commemoration event conducted in Kuwait, the nationals said that Eritrean independence is an everlasting gift from its martyrs, and said that honoring their trust is the duty of every citizen. They also reiterated readiness to make due contribution in the ongoing development drive. 

The nationals in Kuwait donated 1% of their salary to martyrs trust fund, while some pledged to take responsibility for families of fallen heroes.

In a speech he delivered at the occasion, the Eritrean Consul to Kuwait, Mr. Girmay Fessehatsion, noted that the people and government of Eritrea are engaged in fulfilling the trust of martyrs. He also commended the initiatives the Eritrean nationals in Kuwait to support of martyrs’ families and reminded them to further enhance their contribution.

Similarly, in the commemoration held in Libya, Eritrean Ambassador to Libya, Mr. Abdallah Mussa, said that June 20 is a day to commemorate martyrs with honor and called on Eritreans residing in Libya to strengthen their unity and fulfill martyrs trust.
