3 schools constructed in Elabered sub-zone

In line with endeavors to expand equitable educational opportunity, 3 schools have been constructed in the administrative areas of Era-Tahtai, Wasdamba and Edirba in Elabered sub-zone at a total expenditure of 7 million Nakfa.
Elabered, 22 June 2010 – In line with endeavors to expand equitable educational opportunity, 3 schools have been constructed in the administrative areas of Era-Tahtai, Wasdamba and Edirba in Elabered sub-zone at a total expenditure of 7 million Nakfa.

The head of engineering and projects branch in the infrastructure development department in Anseba regional Administration, Mr. Fitsum Gerezgiher, indicated that the schools were constructed through the coordination of the Government and community, and would play major role in ensuring the quality of education.

The 3 schools are equipped with 22 classrooms, staff offices and a pond with a capacity of holding 300 barrels of water each, as well as other facilities. The necessary school materials have already been put in place in the newly constructed schools, he added.

The head of project management in the Education Ministry’s branch in the region, Mr. Maekele Bein, noted the significance of the schools in backing up the introduced curriculum. He further called on parents to send their children to school at the right age.

The local inhabitants expressed satisfaction with the construction of schools in their respective areas.
