The Anseba regional Administration is implementing a number of development projects this year at an expenditure of over 326 million Nakfa aimed at achieving food security and reinforcing the development drive.
Keren, 26 June 2010 – The Anseba regional Administration is implementing a number of development projects this year at an expenditure of over 326 million Nakfa aimed at achieving food security and reinforcing the development drive.
Indicating that this year’s budget has increased fourfold compared to the previous year, the regional Administration pointed out that it would be channeled for the construction of schools, residential houses and pedagogy centers, health institutions in Sel’a and Geleb, micro-dams and water reservoirs, as well as the implementation of potable water supply projects, putting in place of agriculture infrastructure facilities and boosting dairy products.
Accordingly, the implementation of projects has already begun as regards the construction of micro-dams and water reservoirs in Gizgiza, Dekemhare, Derequ, Tinkulhas, Hadish-Adi and Sequar; implementation of potable water supply in Halib-Mentel, Dembe-Habtetsion, Zien and Basheri; construction of community hospital in Geleb; and setting up a health center in Rikeb, as well as the building of residential houses for teachers in 18 schools and construction of additional classrooms in 8 schools, among others. The necessary preparations are also underway to implement the other envisaged projects.
The Anseba regional Administration further disclosed that the projects are being undertaken through active popular participation and called on the inhabitants to strengthen organizational capacity and redouble endeavors for still greater accomplishments.
