Training on preparing animal feed given to farmers in Gash-Barka region

A training on ways of preparing animal feed and ensuring the health of livestock was given in Barentu town to the farming community in Gash-Barka region. Barentu, 26 June 2010 – A training on ways of preparing animal feed and ensuring the health of livestock was given in Barentu town to the farming community in Gash-Barka region.

Agricultural experts and farmers from the sub-zones of Golij, Tessenei, Shambuko and Molqi took part in the training aimed at preparing animal feed through utilizing available resources.

The training was organized by senior experts in preparing animal feed and veterinary science in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the region.  It also deals with developing rangelands and water sources, introducing modern animal husbandry, basic veterinary science and utilization of different types of trees, among others.

The participants of the training highlighted the significance of such training courses in boosting livestock productivity and ensuring their health condition.
