Tourism information center vital for raising public awareness

Tourism information center has a significant role to play in documenting the research and exploration of historical sites and relicts, as well as raising the awareness of tourists.
Keren, 30 June 2010 – Tourism information center has a significant role to play in documenting the research and exploration of historical sites and relicts, as well as raising the awareness of tourists.

Mr. Fiseha Habte from the Tourism Ministry’s branch in Anseba region stated that the region is endowed with rich archeological sites and artifact that highlight the life style and history of the ancient inhabitants of the area. 

He further explained that preliminary study is being undertaken by the branch office so as to properly bequeath such an asset to the young generation, besides popularizing it to visitors. In this respect, he noted the significance of the study in documenting and preserving historical relics and raising public awareness.

The head of the Ministry’s branch in the region, Mr. Mogos Asgedom, pointed out that there exist historical caves in Emba Zawul, Elabered sub-zone, dating back to many years which call for coordinated endeavors to preserve them.
