A training focusing on boosting agricultural output has been given to farmers from 23 administrative areas of Senafe sub-zone.
Senafe, 2 June 2010 – A training focusing on boosting agricultural output has been given to farmers from 23 administrative areas of Senafe sub-zone.
The head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, Mr. Solomon Meles, explained that the training dealt with soil and water conservation, reforestation, animal breeding and Veterinary Science, Plant Science and the like. It is aimed at raising the awareness of the farming community and boost agricultural production, he added.
The participants of the training expressed readiness to step up soil and water conservation activities, as well as leveling of land. They also requested the Ministry to make the necessary materials available.
In a related report, training has been given to needy women in Adi-Quala town regarding weaving and handcraft. The training aimed at enabling women become self-supporting and improve their standard of living.
The head of social service in the sub-zone, Ms. Tirhas Fikadu, handed certificates to the trainees, and called on them to strive for upgrading their living standard.
