Concerted action being taken to highlight potentials of the youth at 4th ERI-YOUTH Festival

Concerted action is being taken by all the administrative regions, Sawa and institutions of higher education, as well as those abroad so as to properly highlight the potentials of youths at the forthcoming 4th ERI-Youth Festival, according to Mr. Ogbai Berhe, Secretary of the Festival Coordinating Committee. Asmara, 5 July 2010 – Concerted action is being taken by all the administrative regions, Sawa and institutions of higher education, as well as those abroad so as to properly highlight the potentials of youths at the forthcoming 4th ERI-Youth Festival, according to Mr. Ogbai Berhe, Secretary of the Festival Coordinating Committee.

Various programs, including activities reflecting the innovative and creative skill of youths, cultural and traditional heritages, traditional and modern sports, general knowledge contest, debating and the like would be featured in the course of the event.

Mr. Ogbai explained that such preparations are aimed at  properly portraying the implementation of development programs through the coordinated endeavors of the people and the Government, especially youths towards ensuring economic emancipation and improving the people’s standard of living.

He further pointed out that this year’s ERI-Youth Festival is special as it is being held at a time when the national integrated resolute rebuff is being strengthened. In this connection, Mr. Ogbai indicated that it would be an event in which Eritrean youths inside the country and abroad renew commitment towards reinforcing the national development drive.

He went on to say that the youth, administrative bodies, families and parents have a vital role to play for the success of the Festival, besides the paramount role of the nation’s media outlets.

More than 2,000 youths would take part in the 4th ERI-Youth Festival due to be  held in Sawa Education and Training Center from July 16 to 19 focusing on educational, sports, cultural and other competitions, according to reports.
