President Isaias Afwerki yesterday observed the Kohaito-Foro road under construction through national construction companies, during which he conducted discussion with experts on ways of effective accomplishment of the project. The President highlighted the need for enabling the inhabitants of various villages along the road to avail themselves of job opportunities, and thereby secure double benefit.
Foro, 5 July 2010 – President Isaias Afwerki yesterday observed the Kohaito-Foro road under construction through national construction companies, during which he conducted discussion with experts on ways of effective accomplishment of the project. The President highlighted the need for enabling the inhabitants of various villages along the road to avail themselves of job opportunities, and thereby secure double benefit.
President Isaias also stressed the need for constructing canals and supportive walls along roads in different parts of the country through the coordination of activities on the part of the people and construction companies so as to prevent them from being damaged by excessive floods.
Also in the course of a visit to the newly constructed water tanker ponds and residential housing, as well as putting in place of infrastructure facility for conserving water in Airomaile, the President urged national companies to enhance participation in the construction of water reservoirs, ponds and other infrastructure facilities that benefit various villages along with their dedication in road works.
The head of the Kohaito-Foro road project, Mr. Fitwi Zere, indicated that the public and members of construction companies are actively engaged in the project, and that over 65 kilometers have so far been constructed to reach Foro and that 50 kilometers remains to be accomplished.
