Members Of Milk Production Association In Adi-Keih Sub-Zone Called Upon To Redouble Efforts

The head of economic development in Adi-Keih sub-zone, Mr. Ogbazgi Tsegai, called on members of the milk production association in the sub-zone to redouble endeavors so as to boost dairy products.

Adi-Keih, 6 July 2010 – The head of economic development in Adi-Keih sub-zone, Mr. Ogbazgi Tsegai, called on members of the milk production association in the sub-zone to redouble endeavors so as to boost dairy products.

He made the remarks during a discussion with members on ways of raising productivity both in quality and quantity. He also reminded them to cultivate animal feeds so as to avoid dependence on factories’ products for obtaining animal feeds.

Mr. Azmera Segid from the Agriculture Ministry’s branch office in the sub-zone said on his part that there are over 300 cows in the sub-zone that supply approximately about 10,000 liters of milk to the market monthly. Continued lectures and advice are also provided to the farming community with a view to boosting milk production, he added.

The Adi-Keih Milk Production Association has about 44 members and functions in the administrative areas of Tekondae, Mergida, Maelewia, Adi-Keih town, Mendefera and Haineba.
