Development Activities Underway in Alwlie-Tseru Administrative Area

The construction of embankments and water catchments along the newly constructed micro-dam in Awlie-Tseru administrative area, Dekemhare sub-zone, is underway with a view to preventing silt deposition, stated Mr. Idris Mohammed Sied, head of soil and water conservation in the sub-zone.
Dekemhare, 7 July 2010 – The construction of embankments and water catchments along the newly constructed micro-dam in Awlie-Tseru administrative area, Dekemhare sub-zone, is underway with a view to preventing silt deposition, stated Mr. Idris Mohammed Sied, head of soil and water conservation in the sub-zone.

He explained that about 250 people from the villages of Zamir, Ziban-Angeb and Dengel are actively engaged in the campaign on a daily basis. The participants of the campaign on their part expressed readiness to redouble endeavors towards obtaining bumper harvest. 

So far, about 100 hectares have been terraced, out of which 50 hectares is planned to be a reserve area, according to the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone.
