President Isaias Afwerki today received a message from the Libyan leader Muamar Al-Khadafi. The message focuses on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as the existing common understanding and consultation on issues of mutual concern to the two countries.
Asmara, 8 July 2010 – President Isaias Afwerki today received a message from the Libyan leader Muamar Al-Khadafi. The message focuses on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as the existing common understanding and consultation on issues of mutual concern to the two countries.
Moreover, the Libyan leader’s message includes an invitation to President Isaias to take part in both the African-Arab Cooperation Summit and the African-European Summit scheduled to be held in the Libyan city of Sirte this year.
Following his meeting with President Isaias, the Libyan leader’s special envoy, Mr. Mohammed Tahir Seyala, told ERINA that he has exchanged views with the President regarding the CEN-SAD due to be held this month in the Chadian capital, Njamena, as well as the AU Conference to be held in Kampala, Uganda.
He also indicated that preparations have been finalized for the meeting of the Eritrean-Libyan Joint Committee in the near future, and that it is exerting the necessary efforts to enhance investment ventures in Eritrea.
