Asmara Music School Graduates 35 Students

Asmara Music School today graduated a total of 35 students, 10 of which graduated at diploma level following a four year course and the rest at certificate level after six months of training.

Asmara, 11 July 2010 – Asmara Music School today graduated a total of 35 students, 10 of which graduated at diploma level following a four year course and the rest at certificate level after six months of training.

In a speech he delivered during the occasion held at the Eritro-German hall, the Director of the school, Mr. Elias Woldegebriel, pointed out that the school gives training on the history and harmony of music both in practically and theoretically. He also added that the school is working on developing local traditional music that reflects the county’s identity in artistic manner.

Explaining that the school is currently giving lessons on eight musical instruments, Mr. Elias indicated that the school will be sending students abroad for further education in addition to those who are already studying in China. He further said that Asmara Music School is currently providing training for 215 students.

At the occasion, students received awards from the head of cultural affairs in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Solomon Tsehaye. 

Asmara Music School was established in 1985 in Sahel and is graduating students for seventh time.
