Education Ministry’s Branch Strives To Bring About Tangible Outcomes

The branch office of the Ministry of Education in the Central region is making relentless efforts to achieve fruitful outcomes in the teaching-learning process, Mr. Girmai Ghebrhiwot, head of the branch office disclosed.
Asmara, 15 July 2010 – The branch office of the Ministry of Education in the Central region is making relentless efforts to achieve fruitful outcomes in the teaching-learning process, Mr. Girmai Ghebrhiwot, head of the branch office disclosed.

He said that the undertaken campaigns to raise students’ awareness and construction of new schools is registering commendable progress in increasing student participation and achieving encouraging outcome.

Explaining that there exist no problems regarding participation of female attendance in schools, Mr. Girmai said that most of elementary and junior prize awards are dominated by female students and they are competitive at the secondary level as well.

As regards to pre-school education, he stated that 80% of students join elementary school following preschool learning, which has significant role to play in the efforts to improve students’ competence. In addition, Mr. Girmai said that training courses are offered to preschool teachers to upgrade their skill.  Furthermore, he stressed the need for parents to develop close ties with teachers.
