The Youth Should Acquire Knowledge And Skills For Better Coordination And Organization: President Isaias

In a seminar he conducted for Eritrean youths from inside the country and abroad in Sawa, President Isaias Afwerki underlined that the youth need to acquire knowledge and professional skills so that they can elevate their awareness and register better coordination.

Sawa, 18 July 2010- In a seminar he conducted for Eritrean youths from inside the country and abroad in Sawa, President Isaias Afwerki underlined that the youth need to acquire knowledge and professional skills so that they can elevate their awareness and register better coordination.

President Isaias went on to explain that Eritrean independence was achieved and its sovereignty safeguarded primarily due to the elevated awareness and organization of the Eritrean people and particularly the youth. Hence, today’s young generation should attain knowledge and professional skills so that they can promote and strengthen the aforementioned values, he added.

Indicating that the EPLF’s slogan that the masses should be organized, armed and educated is a principle that should be referred to by today’s youth and that it is pragmatic even for the present stage, President Isaias underscored that knowledge and skills can go a long way if applied collectively. The President then called on the youth to make proper use of the educational opportunities being made available by the government and collectively work towards the integrated national resolute rebuff by coordinating their skills and personal experiences.

Pointing out that enemy target in any community are usually the youth, President Isaias explained that Eritrean youth are the most important target for those who seek to weaken the country or even destroy its every existence if it were possible. However, the fact that the Eritrean youth have been able to overcome different challenges has indeed astonished many and the engineers of all the plots and conspiracies are giving up.

President Isaias also indicated that if the impressive resolute rebuff of Eritrean youth is to assume even more strength, they would have to sacrifice their time and demands and cultivate the habit of integrating their resources.

Finally, President Isaias answered questions from the participants regarding objective situation in the country, Eritrea’s relations with its neighbors as well as different issues concerning the youth.

Meanwhile, in a meeting he held with parents in Sawa on Saturday July 17, President Isaias Afwerki commended the efforts of Eritrean parents residing abroad in handing down national values to their children.

Indicating that the youth are primarily cultivated by the values and experiences of their parents and their immediate surroundings, President Isaias pointed out that the relentless efforts by Eritrean nationals abroad in inculcating national values in the younger generations is itself an important moral support to the Eritrean government.

Stating that the Eritrean people are a very staunch people, the President explained that it is this strength that has enabled them to overcome the plots and conspiracies designed to weaken the country. Failing this, the psychological warfare aimed at the Eritrean youth has also been foiled owing to the strong organization and awareness of the youth inside the country and abroad, he added.

As regards the role of the youth, President Isaias asserted that young Eritreans are actively engaged in national development endeavors and that no Eritrean youth in any corner of the world would abandon his country. He went on to add that the role of parents in providing an example by participating in national development endeavors as well as in cultivating patriotism in their children is the driving force behind the aforementioned fact.

The parents on their part expressed their pride in the ongoing development programs being implemented by the people and government and added that they were happy to witness the development progress firsthand. They went on to express their readiness to enhance their contribution and participation for the successful implementation of the integrated national resolute rebuff.
