Senafe, 21 July 2010 – Various development projects worth over 93 million Nakfa are under implementation in Senafe sub-zone focusing on ensuring education, health and potable water supply services.
In a meeting with the local inhabitants, the head of infrastructure development in the Southern region, Mr. Rezene Fiseha, pointed out that different programs worth about 42 million Nakfa are being undertaken in the sub-zone with a view to opening schools in remote areas, creating conducive teaching environment for students and upgrading the competence of schools.
Also in line with endeavors to ensure the provision of potable water supply, water distribution stations and ponds have already been constructed in the villages of Ambesete, Maekelai and Laelai Geleba, while the installation of water pipelines is well in progress. He further explained that the putting in place of water distribution stations and water tankers have been finalized in the Serha semi-urban center, Mai-Tsaeda, Embahis’a and Gubo, whereas the process of installation of motors would begin shortly.
Mr. Rezene went on to say that the 1st phase of the rebuilding of the Senafe Hospital that was destroyed by the TPLF regime’s invading forces has been finalized.
The participants of the meeting commended the coordinated endeavors of the Government in the effective implementation of various development programs.
