Government Endeavors To Create Equal Educational Opportunities Bear Impressive Outcome, Minister Says

The Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, said that the Government’s endeavors to provide equitable educational opportunity in all parts of the country has borne impressive outcome.

Sawa, 22 July 2010 – The Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, said that the Government’s endeavors to provide equitable educational opportunity in all parts of the country has borne impressive outcome.

In a seminar he conducted in Sawa to the participants of the 4th ERI-Youth Festival, Mr. Semere emphasize that the expansion of schools at all levels attests to the substantial investment in education.

He went on to say that such investment is aimed at building the country’s manpower resources and promoting economic emancipation of the people. Mr. Semere further indicated that the huge investment in education would create conducive ground for the realization of quality and higher standard in 2020.

Accordingly, 9 elementary and junior schools at a cost of 56 million Nakfa, 16 secondary schools at an expenditure of about 196 million Nakfa and 21 junior schools at a cost of 135 million Nakfa are under construction in all the administrative regions in collaboration with partners.
