Inhabitants of Himbol reiterate readiness to back up development drive

The inhabitants of Himbol administrative area, Kerkebet sub-zone, reiterated readiness to step up participation in the national development drive aimed at improving the people’s standard of living.
Himbol, 26 July 2010 – The inhabitants of Himbol administrative area, Kerkebet sub-zone, reiterated readiness to step up participation in the national development drive aimed at improving the people’s standard of living.

They explained that previously they used to live in scattered places. At present, however, they have been regrouped into one community at a suitable site and have already become beneficiaries of various social services.

The local inhabitants went on to say that a number of social services, including education, health, potable water supply and transport have been put in place in the area since independence, which in turn facilitated the pace of urbanization.

They further stated that Himbal administrative area has now become the hub of trading activities as a number of people from the surrounding areas of Orotta, Era, Agordat, Amlait and Afhimbol come to the area to engage themselves in trading activities.

The Administrator of the area, Mr. Idris Mohammed Omar, pointed out that the inhabitants have been regrouped at a convenient site and that land plots have already been allotted for residential and commercial purposes. He added that the fact that the Agrodat-Amalait road crosses the area also provides added impetus to urbanization in the area.
