Eritrea Registering Encouraging Progress On The Basis Of Internal Resources, Says Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Osman Saleh said that Eritrea is registering encouraging progress in diverse domains on the basis of internal resource. He made the remarks at the 15th ordinary session of the African Union Assembly focusing on maternal, infant and child health and development in Africa.

Asmara, 27 July 2010 – Foreign Minister Osman Saleh said that Eritrea is registering encouraging progress in diverse domains on the basis of internal resource. He made the remarks at the 15th ordinary session of the African Union Assembly focusing on maternal, infant and child health and development in Africa.

In the meeting held from July 25 to 27 in Kampala, Uganda, Mr. Osman explained that Eritrea is giving top priority to health, education, food security and the provision of services that ensure the minimum requirement for a dignified life to its citizens. The Foreign Minister further pointed out that tangible achievements have been registered in ensuring maternal, infant and child health, in addition to significantly rolling back malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS and other killer diseases.

Mr. Osman indicated that although the progress registered is quite encouraging, still a lot remains to be accomplished in relation to the aspirations and expectation of the people and Government of Eritrea.
