Academic and Vocational Training Courses Offered to Prisoners of Law

A total of 45 prisoners of law at Hazhaz Rehabilitation and Correctional Center received academic and vocational training courses.
Asmara, 28 July 2010 – A total of 45 prisoners of law at Hazhaz Rehabilitation and Correctional Center received academic and vocational training courses.

The training included a six-month course focusing on ceramic works, sewing machine and leather products, in addition to a year-long academic pursuit.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Commander of the Hazhaz Rehabilitation and Correctional Center, Maj. Semere Tekle, stated that the Eritrean Rehabilitation and Correctional Center is striving to enable prisoners of law become beneficiaries of the existing educational opportunity, including vocational training. The activities carried out in Hazhaz Rehabilitation and Correctional Center is also in continuation of such endeavors.

The head of development at the Eritrean Rehabilitation and Correctional Center, Maj. Habtemichael Berhe, indicated on his part that the program is aimed at ensuring the bright future of prisoners, besides enabling them to get socialized with the community.

The graduates received certificates and prizes from the Commander of the Eritrean Rehabilitation and Correctional Services, Brig. General Girmai Mehari, and other officials.
