A total of 100 Eritrean youths from Saudi Arabia conducted a tour in Southern and Gash-Barka regions from July 19 to 29, during which they highly appraised the nation’s rich resources. They also stated that the development achievements being registered would provide them moral boost to redouble their endeavors for the national cause.
Mendefera, 31 July 2010 – A total of 100 Eritrean youths from Saudi Arabia conducted a tour in Southern and Gash-Barka regions from July 19 to 29, during which they highly appraised the nation’s rich resources. They also stated that the development achievements being registered would provide them moral boost to redouble their endeavors for the national cause.
Mr. Abdelkadir Malk and Ms. Rima Rafael from among the visiting youths said that the development and construction accomplishments they observed beginning from Sawa, Gash-Barka and Southern regions shoulder them heavy responsibility to exert still more efforts upon return to their respective cities of habitation. They further expressed deep impression with the fruitful outcome borne as regards nurturing dynamic youths, on top of the achievements registered in putting in place infrastructure facilities and social services.
Ms. Muna Seid and Mr. Mewael Kiron who were born and grown up in Saudi Arabia and visited the Homeland for the first time explained on their part that the tour played major role in familiarizing them with the nation. They further indicated that they would encourage other youths in Saudi Arabia to visit Eritrea.
In the course of the tours, the youth visited the dams of Gerset and Fanko, the Aligidir Agricultural Project, Banatom Factory in Gash-Barka region, as well as the Serha Trenches, historical sites of Belew-Kelew, Metera and Keskese, Kohaito-Foro road, Safira Dam, Adi-Keih College of Arts and Social Science, Adi-Begio trenches and other places in the Southern region. The visiting youths expressed satisifaction with the warm hospitality accorded them on the part of the people and administrative bodies.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hassen Abdalla Beri, a Somali youth who visited Eritrea as basketball coach o said that he is highly impressed with the prevailing peace, stability, unity and coexistence in the country.
