Members of the farming community in Shambuko sub-zone are undertaking effective agricultural activities through tractors and traditional methods so as to undertake cultivation at the right time, according to reports. Shambuko, 31 July 2010 – Members of the farming community in Shambuko sub-zone are undertaking effective agricultural activities through tractors and traditional methods so as to undertake cultivation at the right time, according to reports.
They explained that the majority of the farm plots have been cultivated as a result of the vigorous endeavors being made. The farmers went on to say that although the tractors deployed in the sub-zone are limited in number, they are accomplishing effective tasks in the administrative areas of Dembe-Himbirti, Girme, Shambuko and Bushuku’a.
The Administrator of Bushuku’a, Mr. Gulbet Gide, indicated that the allocation of tractors this year is quite fair compared to the previous year, which in turn is playing major role in facilitating farming activities.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Mai-Lam, Adi-Maelel, Enda-Romadi, Dembe-Smera and Ade-Ba’are cultivated their farm plots through oxen.
Reports indicated that commendable rain is being showered in the sub-zone that is having positive impact on agricultural practices there.
