SWP being stepped up in Ginda’e sub-zone

Summer Work Program (SWP) is being stepped up in Ginda’e sub-zone through the participation of about 410 students, out of whom 160 are females, stated Mr. Fisihatsion Tekie, coordinator of the program in the Northern Red Sea region.
Ginda, 2 August 2010 – Summer Work Program (SWP) is being stepped up in Ginda’e sub-zone through the participation of about 410 students, out of whom 160 are females, stated Mr. Fisihatsion Tekie, coordinator of the program in the Northern Red Sea region.

The program that would continue until August 5 focuses on the construction and renovation of terraces, embankments and roads, as well as soil and water conservation, among others. He indicated that the program has a vital role to play in inculcating the spirit of harmony and mutual care among the students, in addition to nurturing the culture of hard work.

Accordingly, over 41,000 meter-long terracing has so far been renovated in Mai-Habar, Nefasit and Dengolo-Laelai, while about 916 meter-long terraces have been constructed.

The participants of the program stressed the significance of the campaign in sharing experience among one another and nurturing the culture of hard work.

Summer Work Program is being undertaken in 3 stations at the regional level such as the sub-zones of Nacfa, Afabet and Ginda’e.
