Eritrean Children Soccer Teams Advanced to Knock-out Match in the Norwegian Football Cup

Two Eritrean children soccer teams that are participating in the Norwegian Football Cup advanced to the knock-out stage by standing 1st as the best teams in their respective group states. Asmara, 4 August 2010 – Two Eritrean children soccer teams that are participating in the Norwegian Football Cup advanced to the knock-out stage by standing 1st as the best teams in their respective group states. 

The teams, Mekete soccer team in the age group of 12-13 stood first in its group comprising of 112 teams, while the Warsay team participating in the age group of 14-15 stood first from its group involving 152 teams. Accordingly, the two Eritrean soccer teams have become among the best 32 soccer teams that advanced to the knock-out stage. 

Also in the knock-out matches conducted yesterday, Mekete team defeated its counterpart 5 to 1, while the Warsay team emerged victorious by beating its counterpart 3 to 2.

The two teams that scored impressive victory in the first and second rounds have also beaten their Norwegian counterparts 6-0 and 9-0 in the 3rd round on the part of Mekete and Warsay respectively.
